A private transfer from Regensburg to Prague covers 285 km — north on the A93 through the Upper Palatinate, east on the A6 to the Czech border at Waidhaus–Rozvadov, then the D5 motorway past Plzeň and Beroun into Prague — and takes approximately 3 hours door to door. The fixed fare starts at €440 in a Mercedes E-Class for up to 3 passengers; groups of up to 6 travel in the V-Class from €485; the S-Class is available from €725 for executive or VIP travel. Your chauffeur collects you at your Regensburg hotel, an office or Regensburg Hauptbahnhof, and drops you at the door of your Prague hotel, apartment or meeting.
The fare is agreed in advance and stays that way: fuel, the Czech motorway vignette, every toll, bottled water, Wi-Fi and child seats on request are included. No connection to catch, no bags to lift onto a rack, no queue for a taxi when you reach Prague.
The Route
Regensburg to Prague
in about three hours.
From a pickup in the Altstadt, near the Steinerne Brücke or at a hotel by the Danube, your chauffeur leaves Regensburg on the A93 heading north. The motorway follows the valley of the Naab through the Upper Palatinate, past Schwandorf, to the junction with the A6, where the route turns east toward the Czech border.
The crossing at Waidhaus–Rozvadov sits inside Schengen — no stop, no queue and no document check in normal conditions. From there the D5 runs straight across West Bohemia: past Plzeň and its brewery chimneys, through Rokycany and Beroun, and into the southwest of Prague. Total distance is approximately 285 kilometres; driving time is three hours in normal traffic, plus 15–20 minutes on a Friday afternoon when the D5 fills with traffic into the city.
Your chauffeur checks the A93 and the D5 before departure. Summer holiday traffic and roadworks come and go on both, and if there is a hold-up they adjust the route without asking. You arrive in Prague in time for a late lunch in Malá Strana or an afternoon meeting in the New Town.

Walhalla above the Danube
Start with a short detour east of Regensburg to Walhalla at Donaustauf, the marble hall of fame high above the river. Forty-five minutes for the hall and the view, then north on the A93 and into Prague by mid-afternoon.

The Chauffeur
What to expect
from your driver.
Your chauffeur is waiting outside your Regensburg hotel before the agreed time, not circling the old town looking for it. The Altstadt has narrow lanes and restricted access, and they plan the pickup point with you in advance so you walk out to an open door.
Three hours is time you can use. Work, rest or ask about Prague — your chauffeur lives there and can tell you how long it takes to walk from your hotel to the Castle, where locals eat in Vinohrady, or when Charles Bridge is quiet.
Water, a charger and Wi-Fi are ready in the cabin. If you want a coffee at the border or a stop in Plzeň, say so on the way. In Prague the bags go into the hotel lobby with you, not onto the kerb.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a private transfer from Regensburg to Prague take?
Approximately 3 hours door to door: the A93 north, the A6 east to the Waidhaus–Rozvadov border, and the D5 past Plzeň into Prague. Friday afternoon traffic into Prague or summer roadworks can add 15–20 minutes.
How much is a taxi or chauffeur from Regensburg to Prague?
A fixed fare from €440 in a Mercedes E-Class for up to 3 passengers, €485 in the V-Class for up to 6, or €725 in the S-Class. The price includes fuel, the Czech vignette, all tolls and driver time — it is per car, not per person.
Can you pick me up at Regensburg Hauptbahnhof or my hotel?
Yes. We collect from any Regensburg address, including hotels in the Altstadt, and from Regensburg Hauptbahnhof. Regensburg has no airport, so if you are flying in to Munich or Nuremberg we can pick you up there instead and drive directly to Prague.
Is a private transfer better than the train from Regensburg to Prague?
Direct trains run via Furth im Wald and Plzeň and take noticeably longer than the drive, station to station. A private transfer is door to door, leaves when you want and costs the same for one passenger or three. For a solo traveller with light luggage, the train is the cheaper option.
Can we stop on the way from Regensburg to Prague?
Yes. Walhalla, Plzeň and Karlštejn Castle are the most popular stops. Tell us at booking and we include the stop in a fixed quote. A short coffee or rest break is always included at no extra cost.
Do I need my passport between Germany and the Czech Republic?
Both countries are in the Schengen Area, so there is no routine border control at Waidhaus–Rozvadov. Carry your passport or EU ID card anyway — spot checks do happen, and non-EU travellers must have their documents with them.
