A private transfer from Nuremberg to Prague covers 295 km — east on the A6 through the Upper Palatinate past Amberg, across the Czech border at Waidhaus–Rozvadov, then the D5 motorway past Plzeň and Beroun into Prague — and takes approximately 3 hours door to door. The fixed fare starts at €455 in a Mercedes E-Class for up to 3 passengers; groups of up to 6 travel in the V-Class from €505; the S-Class is available from €750 for executive or VIP travel. Your chauffeur collects you at your Nuremberg hotel, an office, Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof or the Arrivals hall at Nuremberg Airport, and drops you at the door of your Prague hotel, apartment or meeting.
The price is fixed before you set off: fuel, the Czech motorway vignette, every toll, bottled water, Wi-Fi and child seats on request are included. No changes of train, no hauling cases between platforms, no taxi to find at the Prague end.
The Route
Nuremberg to Prague
in about three hours.
From a pickup below the Kaiserburg, near the Hauptmarkt or at the trade fair grounds, your chauffeur joins the A6 and heads east out of Franconia. The motorway crosses the Upper Palatinate — wooded hills, small market towns, Amberg just off to the north — and passes the junction with the A93 before climbing gently toward the Czech border.
The crossing at Waidhaus–Rozvadov is inside Schengen: no stop and no check in normal conditions. On the Czech side the D5 carries you across West Bohemia, past Stříbro and around Plzeň, then through Rokycany and Beroun to the southwest edge of Prague. Total distance is approximately 295 kilometres; driving time is about three hours in normal traffic. On a Friday afternoon, allow 20–30 minutes more for the run into the city.
Your chauffeur checks the A6 and the D5 before you leave. Roadworks and holiday traffic shift from week to week, and if there is a hold-up they adjust the route without asking. You arrive in Prague with the afternoon or evening still yours — time to check in and walk to dinner in the Old Town.

Stops on the Way
Make the drive
part of the trip.
Three hours can include a stop worth remembering. These three sit close to the road between Nuremberg and Prague.
Amberg and the Stadtbrille
Leave Nuremberg at 9:00 and stop in Amberg forty-five minutes later. An hour inside the old town walls — the market square, St Martin’s church and the bridge over the Vils — then east to the border and Prague by mid-afternoon.

Kladruby Monastery
A few minutes off the D5 near Stříbro, the Benedictine monastery at Kladruby has a church rebuilt by Santini in his striking Baroque Gothic style. A guided visit takes about an hour before the run on to Prague.

Lunch and a Brewery Tour in Plzeň
Plzeň is the natural midway pause. Lunch in the old town, or the Pilsner Urquell brewery tour with its cellars, then an hour on the D5 brings you into Prague for the evening.

The Chauffeur
What to expect
from your driver.
Your chauffeur is waiting at the door of your Nuremberg hotel or at the exit of the trade fair hall you name. At Nuremberg Airport they stand inside Arrivals with a name board, already aware of your landing time, and take the luggage from there.
The cabin is quiet and the time is yours. Prepare for tomorrow’s meeting, sleep after a long fair day, or ask about Prague — your chauffeur lives in the city and can tell you which district your hotel is in, how to time the Castle, and where to eat near the river.
Water, a charger and Wi-Fi are already on board. If you want a coffee at the border or the cabin cooler or warmer, just say. In Prague your chauffeur carries the bags to reception, not just to the kerb.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a private transfer from Nuremberg to Prague take?
Approximately 3 hours door to door: the A6 east past Amberg to the Waidhaus–Rozvadov border, then the D5 past Plzeň into Prague. Friday afternoon traffic into Prague can add 20–30 minutes.
How much is a taxi or chauffeur from Nuremberg to Prague?
A fixed fare from €455 in a Mercedes E-Class for up to 3 passengers, €505 in the V-Class for up to 6, or €750 in the S-Class. The price includes fuel, the Czech vignette, all tolls and driver time — it is per car, not per person.
Can you pick me up at Nuremberg Airport and drive me straight to Prague?
Yes. Send us your flight number when you book. Your chauffeur tracks the flight, waits inside Arrivals at Nuremberg Airport (NUE) with your name, and drives you directly to your Prague address. Pickup from Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof or any hotel works the same way.
Is a private transfer better than the train or bus from Nuremberg to Prague?
Rail between the two cities usually involves a change and takes longer than the drive; the direct coach is the main public option. For a solo traveller with light luggage, the coach or train is cheaper. For two or three people, or a lot of luggage, the private car is door to door and costs the same per car.
Can we stop on the way from Nuremberg to Prague?
Yes. Amberg, Kladruby Monastery and Plzeň are the most requested. Tell us at booking and we include the stop in a fixed quote. A short coffee or rest break is always included at no extra cost.
Do I need my passport between Germany and the Czech Republic?
Both countries are in the Schengen Area, so there is no routine border control at Waidhaus–Rozvadov. Carry your passport or EU ID card anyway — spot checks do happen, and non-EU travellers must have their documents with them.
