Price from
€140
A private transfer from Plzeň to Prague covers 90 km — east on the D5 motorway past Rokycany and Beroun, then into Prague from the west — and takes approximately one hour door to door. The fixed fare starts at €140 in a Mercedes E-Class for up to 3 passengers; groups of up to 6 travel in the V-Class from €155; the S-Class is available from €230 for executive or VIP travel. Your chauffeur collects you at your Plzeň hotel, a meeting near Republic Square, the Pilsner Urquell brewery gate or Plzeň main station, and drops you at the door of your Prague hotel, apartment or office.
The fare is agreed before you travel and does not move: fuel, the Czech motorway vignette, bottled water, Wi-Fi and child seats on request are all included. Because the D5 reaches Prague on the airport side of the city, it is also one of the easiest ways to make an afternoon flight from Václav Havel Airport.
The Route
Plzeň to Prague
in one hour.
From a pickup in the centre, near the brewery or at the main station, your chauffeur joins the D5 on the edge of Plzeň and heads east. The first stretch runs through the wooded hills around Rokycany; there is no border on this route — it stays entirely inside the Czech Republic.
Past Rokycany the motorway drops into the Berounka valley at Beroun, with the limestone hills of the Bohemian Karst to the south — Karlštejn Castle is hidden among them, a short detour away. Total distance is approximately 90 kilometres; driving time is about one hour in normal traffic.
The D5 enters Prague on its western side, a few minutes from Václav Havel Airport and around twenty minutes from the centre. Your chauffeur checks traffic before departure; Sunday evenings and weekday rush hour can slow the last kilometres into the city, and if there is a closure near Beroun they take the old road without asking.

The fixed price covers everything from your Plzeň pickup to your Prague drop-off: the car, the chauffeur, fuel and the Czech vignette. After a brewery visit, a day of meetings or a trip from Bavaria that ended in Plzeň, you step out at your Prague door with nothing left to arrange.

Stops on the Way
Make the drive
part of the trip.
The hour between Plzeň and Prague runs past some of the best castle country in Bohemia. Three stops cover most of the requests we get on the way into Prague.
Karlštejn Castle
Leave the D5 at Beroun and follow the Berounka to Karlštejn, the Gothic castle Charles IV built to keep the crown jewels. Allow two hours for the walk up and a tour, then half an hour to Prague.

The Koněprusy Caves
A few minutes south of Beroun, the largest cave system in Bohemia runs under the hills of the Bohemian Karst. A guided tour takes under an hour — a good stop with children on the way to Prague.

Křivoklát and the Berounka Woods
A longer detour north of the motorway leads through deep forest to Křivoklát, a royal hunting castle above the river. Lunch nearby, then back on the D5 and into Prague by late afternoon.

Stops are planned at booking and priced by the extra time and distance — tell us where you would like to stop and we confirm a firm quote before you book. A short coffee or rest stop is always included.
The Chauffeur
What to expect
from your driver.
Your chauffeur waits at the door of your Plzeň hotel or at the brewery gate, not at a car park down the street. If you are coming off a train at Plzeň main station, tell us the arrival time and they are there when you walk out.
An hour is enough to close a laptop, make two calls or simply watch the hills go by. If you want to know more about where you are going — which Prague district your hotel is in, how to get the most from an evening in Malá Strana, how long the airport check-in really takes — ask. Your chauffeur drives Prague every day.
Water, charger and Wi-Fi are already in the cabin. If you want a coffee in Beroun or a particular temperature in the back, say so. On arrival your chauffeur takes the bags to reception or to the airport check-in hall.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a private transfer from Plzeň to Prague take?
Approximately one hour door to door on the D5 motorway. Sunday evening and weekday rush-hour traffic into Prague can add 10–15 minutes.
How much is a taxi or chauffeur from Plzeň to Prague?
A fixed fare from €140 in a Mercedes E-Class for up to 3 passengers, €155 in the V-Class for up to 6, or €230 in the S-Class. The price includes fuel, the Czech motorway vignette and driver time — it is per car, not per person.
Can you pick me up at Plzeň main station?
Yes. Give us your train and arrival time and your chauffeur meets you at the station, helps with the luggage and drives you directly to your Prague address. Any hotel, office or the Pilsner Urquell brewery works just as well.
Is a private transfer better than the train from Plzeň to Prague?
Trains and buses between Plzeň and Prague are frequent and reasonably quick, and for a solo traveller with light luggage they are the cheaper choice. A private transfer saves the trips to and from the stations, leaves when you are ready and costs the same for one passenger or three.
Can we stop on the way from Plzeň to Prague?
Yes. Karlštejn Castle, the Koněprusy Caves and Křivoklát are the most popular stops. Tell us at booking and we include the stop in a fixed quote. A short coffee or rest break is always included.
Can you drive me from Plzeň straight to Prague Airport?
Yes. The D5 reaches Prague on the western side of the city, close to Václav Havel Airport, so there is no need to cross the centre. Tell us your flight time and we plan the pickup in Plzeň with a comfortable margin.
