From a Prague pickup in Old Town, Vinohrady, Malá Strana, or Václav Havel Airport, your chauffeur takes Highway 3 and the E55 south through the rolling farmland of Central Bohemia. The D3 motorway is only partially finished — the middle section from Mezno through Tábor and around the České Budějovice bypass opened in late 2024, but the northern stretch into Prague is still under construction. Your chauffeur uses the parallel Highway 3 until it joins the motorway, then runs the D3 all the way past České Budějovice before dropping onto the 39 for the final approach to Český Krumlov.
Total distance is approximately 175 kilometres, all inside the Czech Republic — no border crossing, no second vignette. Driving time is two and a half hours in normal conditions. Your drop-off point is the UNESCO Old Town on the Vltava horseshoe bend, beneath the Castle complex and across from the Egon Schiele Art Centrum and the Latrán quarter.
One seasonal note — in summer, parking inside the Old Town is restricted and every approach road is congested.
