The Route
Leipzig to Prague
in about three hours.
From a pickup in the centre, at the Neue Messe or at Leipzig/Halle Airport, your chauffeur heads southeast on the A14 across open Saxon farmland, joining the A4 for the run into Dresden. German motorways carry no toll for cars. Meissen sits just off this stretch, and Dresden comes up at roughly the halfway mark — an easy place to pause.
South of Dresden the A17 climbs into the eastern Ore Mountains and crosses into the Czech Republic on the motorway, inside the Schengen Area: no routine check, no queue. The road becomes the D8, runs down past Ústí nad Labem and Lovosice and across the Bohemian plain into Prague. Total distance is approximately 260 kilometres; driving time is about three hours in normal traffic.
Your chauffeur checks the A14, the A17 and the D8 before departure. If roadworks or an accident close a section, they reroute without asking. You arrive in Prague with the afternoon or evening still yours — time to check in, walk to the Old Town Square, and sit down to dinner.

The Chauffeur
What to expect
from your driver.
Your chauffeur meets you in the hotel lobby or at the Messe entrance you name, not somewhere in the car park. At Leipzig/Halle Airport they wait inside Arrivals with a name board and handle the bags from there.
Close to three hours is useful time. Finish the trade-fair notes, take your calls, or sleep — your chauffeur will not fill the silence. If you would like a few words on Prague before you arrive, they know it well: the neighbourhoods, the hotels, the shortest way through the Old Town.
Water, charger and Wi-Fi are in the cabin. If you want a coffee in Dresden or a quieter route through the Ore Mountains, say so. In Prague your luggage goes to reception with you.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a private transfer from Leipzig to Prague take?
About three hours door to door, via Dresden on the A14, A4 and A17, then the D8 from the border into Prague. Friday afternoon traffic can add 15–20 minutes.
How much is a taxi or chauffeur from Leipzig to Prague?
A fixed fare from €405 in a Mercedes E-Class for up to 3 passengers, €445 in the V-Class for up to 6, or €665 in the S-Class. Fuel, the Czech motorway vignette and the chauffeur’s time are included — per car, not per person.
Can you pick me up at Leipzig/Halle Airport or Leipzig Hauptbahnhof?
Yes. Give us your flight number and your chauffeur tracks the landing at Leipzig/Halle Airport, waits inside Arrivals with your name and drives you straight to Prague. Pickups at Leipzig Hauptbahnhof, the Messe or any hotel are arranged the same way.
Is a private transfer better than the train from Leipzig to Prague?
The train usually involves a change in Dresden and takes longer than the drive once you add the trips to and from the stations. For a solo traveller with light bags the train is the cheaper option. For a group, a family or anyone with luggage, a private car is door to door and costs the same for one passenger or three.
Can we stop on the way from Leipzig to Prague?
Yes. Meissen, Dresden and the Terezín Memorial are the most common requests. Tell us at booking and we include the stop in a fixed quote. A short coffee or rest break is always included.
Do I need my passport between Germany and the Czech Republic?
Both countries are in the Schengen Area, so there is no routine border check on the motorway. Carry your passport or EU ID card anyway — spot checks happen, and non-EU travellers must have their documents with them.
